Burlington, VT (March 12, 2014) — Last week, the 32nd annual Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships presented by MINI wrapped up at Vail Mountain, and it’s already going down in the history books as one of the best snowboarding events ever. In case you missed any of the highlights from the longest running contest in snowboarding, there are plenty of places to relive all the best moments.

Here’s a quick recap of what went down last week:
Slopestyle Finals: Friday, March 7th
Under snowy skies, six women and 10 men took to the slopestyle course to prove why they’re the best riders in the world. 23-year-old Jamie Anderson (USA), who recently took home the Olympic gold medal in Sochi, stuck her second run, scoring an 87.55, beating out Spencer O’Brien (CAN), who took second and Isabel Derungs (SUI), who finished third. Not only did Anderson win $45,000 and her fourth US Open title, she went away as the 2014 World Snowboard Tour Slopestyle Champion.
In the men’s slopestyle finals, 2014 Olympic bronze medalist, Mark McMorris’ solid run scored him back-to-back US Open slopestyle titles. 2014 Olympic silver medalist, Stale Sandbech (NOR) stood second on the podium, coming in just 3/10 of a point behind McMorris (CAN). Sandbech was also crowned the 2014 World Snowboard Tour Slopestyle Champion for his incredible season. Maxence Parrot (CAN), who has been on fire this year with many top podiums including X-Games slopestyle and big air gold, finished third.
That evening, Vail was treated to a free concert at the Solaris stage in the village, with music by Big Gigantic.
Halfpipe Finals: Saturday, March 8th
It was blue skies and t-shirt weather on Saturday, March 8th as the top six women and 10 men took center stage in Vail’s 22-foot superpipe. Coming in on top and winning a record seventh US Open hallfpipe title was 2014 Olympic bronze medalist Kelly Clark (USA). Clark also became a four-time World Snowboard Tour Halfpipe Champion. 2014 Olympian Queralt Castellet (ESP) took second place with her beautiful run and 13-year-old Chloe Kim (USA), stood atop her first US Open podium finishing third. Kim, who is notably 10 years younger than the other US Open finalists, also became the youngest World Snowboard Tour Overall Champion.
In the men’s halfpipe final, 2014 Olympian Taylor Gold’s (USA) insane second run won him his first US Open title. 2014 Olympic bronze medalist Taku Hiraoka (JPN) took the second spot as well as the World Snowboard Tour Halfpipe Title. And 17-year-old David Habluetzel (SUI), had an impressive showing, finishing third and scoring his first US Open podium. And in a nod to decades of US Open history, riders like Terje Haakonsen, Danny Davis and Scotty Lago poached the pipe in between the official halfpipe runs.
To end the event, Capital Cities put on a free show at the Solaris stage with the official US Open closing party at Dobson Ice Arena featuring DJ Jazzy Jeff.
