Vans will announce this morning that it has hired Fara Howard as the new Global Vice President of Marketing.

Vans President Kevin Bailey and Howard spoke with SES about her new role, what it means for Vans and what it means for the brand’s global strategies. SES Executive Edition members can read that story here.

Fara comes to Vans from Dell. There, she led marketing for Dell’s North America Consumer and Small Business division, including strategy, digital and traditional media, CRM and marketing analytics.

She also established Dell’s in-house creative agency and interactive design organizations, which she grew to a team of over 200 people globally.

Prior to Dell, she worked at Gatorade, part of Pepsi’s portfolio of brands, and launched its X-Factor sub-line.

Howard fills the job previously held by Doug Palladini who was promoted to VP/GM of the Americas last year.
