Press release:
WASHINGTON (July 24, 2014) — The 14/15 snow sports season is in sight and the entire industry is looking past the sunny summer days to think about SNOW. To assist with 14/15 prep, SnowSports Industries America (SIA), the snow sports industry’s member owned trade association, mailed 12,000 copies of the SIA Snow Sports Industry Planner to SIA members as well as retail shops, resorts, media and industry organizations. It is also available online at Snowsports.org/industryplanner with downloadable iCal versions compatible with Google and Outlook.
SIA Industry PlannerThe Industry Planner provides a comprehensive guide to 150+ events including snow sports trade shows, consumer shows, industry events, competitions, SIA Association and Snow Show important dates plus major holidays in in the United States and Canada. Check the Industry Planner online periodically for updates.
“The season moves by quickly and with so many events to keep track of, the Industry Planner has proven to be an essential resource for our team,” said Annette Southworth, cash management coordinator and executive assistant for Rossignol North America. “Having a consolidated calendar of all national and regional tradeshows, demos, competitions and industry clinics is incredibly helpful and helps ensure we don’t miss anything.”
“The cover of this year’s Industry Planner celebrates our unity as an industry and the freedom we all feel sliding on snow, whether in the resort or backcountry, or on skis, snowboards or Nordic gear,” said David Ingemie, SIA president. “And the Industry Planner has become a standard fixture in so many offices that it is essential we release it in the summer while suppliers and retail shops are gearing up for the season ahead.”
Reminders appear in the Industry Planner for Bring A Friend Challenge, Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month, World Snowboard Day and Winter Trails Day — all SIA-supported programs working to educate consumers on snow sports and increase participation. SIA suggests brands link their websites to these events and assist in growing snow sports. Please note, calendar dates are subject to change. Check with the event organizer to confirm.
