Quiksilver and Hobie Surf Shop celebrated St Patrick’s Day in a unique way Tuesday night, hosting an event with Tom Carroll and Bob McKnight in Dana Point.
It was a homecoming of sorts, as Hobie was the first shop to sell Quiksilver boardshorts in the US. With a backdrop of original boardshorts and surf footage from Quiksilver’s archives, Tom Carroll and Bob McKnight told stories about surf trips and little-known adventures from over the years, such as traveling to G-Land and Hawaii before they became the popular surf destinations they are today.
It was a special night for families and friends from the local community who came out to hear firsthand from these two industry legends.
