(Oceanside, CA – March 24, 2015) – Australian-founded sunglass brand OTIS Eyewear is excited to celebrate new beginnings this spring with the launch of their 2015 Collection, via a refreshing, new campaign ‘Play With Glass’ – the brainchild of Encinitas, CA-based creative agency Wedge & Lever.

Heading into its second year in the US market, OTIS Eyewear is focused on expanding distribution channels and continuing to educate customers about the choices they have in lens materials. While challenged with the task of communicating the benefits of OTIS mineral glass lenses, the brand engaged Wedge & Lever to deliver a fresh perspective on glass.

“For the new campaign we wanted to make something that symbolized a free-spirit  nature while simultaneously calling back to the product. By incorporating a clean system of communication with a handwritten element, Play With Glass was created.” –  W&L

“There can be a perception of glass being a highly fragile and delicate material, but mineral glass is actually the most scratch-resistant lens material available,” says Sean Kelly, OTIS Eyewear Director of Operations, “we provide scratch tests at the point of sale and encourage our customers to grab a set of keys and play with glass, comparing the scratch-resistance between a plastic lens and a mineral glass lens.”

2015 OTIS Eyewear Spring Collection

Available now, the latest collection is spearheaded by two fresh men’s styles and a debut women’s-specific offering, all of which boast hand-made acetate frames, Vissottica stainless steel hinges and OTIS signature mineral glass lenses.

Test of Time and Missing Pieces are the two new guys on the block set to compliment the current men’s offering. Both new styles keep things classy in a shiny black alongside two fresh takes on tortoise, Missing Pieces in a sophisticated ‘coffee tort’ and Test of Time in a subdued ‘matte amber tort.’

A vintage inspired piece ‘Test of Time’ takes inspiration from the iconic Hollywood style of the 70’s.  (MSRP $180 – Available in ‘matte amber tort’ / Polarized $230 – Available in ‘shiny black’)

Typically offered in unisex styles, joining the OTIS offering are three new women’s-specific styles with three very different personalities: Mona, Skinny Dip and Heatwave. The collection is inspired by a classic cat-eye aesthetic, bringing forth a perfect harmony between vintage and modern style. Subtle characteristics and varying frame sizes across the offering result in a cohesive yet versatile debut collection.

An avant-garde vintage, Mona is a modern twist on the feminine cat-eye. She is petite in frame, but bold in personality…not for the faint of heart. (MSRP $180 – Available in ‘matte black’ and ‘dark rum matte tort/shiny black’)
