Zumiez records solid February, Blue Tomato shines

Some say February is a dead month in retail, but Zumiez recorded a robust result for the month, with same store sales rising 6.9%.

The company said its Blue Tomato European business performed particularly well, outpacing the consolidated results.

Sale of seasonal products at Blue Tomato helped drive the strong numbers.

Solid categories for the company overall included men’s, hardgoods, junior’s, and accessories.

Footwear sales continue to be weak.

Zumiez operates 550 stores in the U.S., 35 in Canada and 19 in Europe.
