Press release:
Quiksilver has recently collaborated with musician Robert Delong, kicking off a partnership that will span over multiple seasons. Set to launch in Spring 2015, Robert worked along side the Quiksilver design team to create on a boardshort called the ‘New Wave Remix’.
Raised in the suburbs of Seattle, Robert headed south to Los Angeles with a toolbox of Wii-motes, keyboards, and drums to develop a live rock show seamlessly creating danceable electro beats with his Wii Remote and Sega Genesis controller. A true “do it yourself” creative genius, he brings a creative, youthful and innovative approach to music using MIDI interfaces, a full drum set, drum pads, keyboards, laptops and game controllers, looping his music to fuse electronic dance beats with rock ‘n’ roll melodies.
His signature style of digitally re-mastering music and video through his equipment has inspired the “New Wave Remix” boardshort using iconic Quiksilver artwork from the 80s, then remixed and re-mastered into a fresh and contemporary boardshort design.
Launching on July 1st, the New Wave Remix X Robert Delong boardshort will be sold at select Quiksilver flagship stores and online at Quiksilver.com for $65.00.
Alongside the New Wave Remix boardshort, Robert Delong and Quiksilver have also collaborated on a capsule collection, which includes t-shirts and a boardshort for the festival season. More details will be announced soon.
