Zumiez same-store sales declined 4% in April, following a trend experienced by many retailers due to the Easter shift.
For March and April combined, Zumiez’s same-store sales rose 1.4%.
In April, nearly every category posted declines including footwear, men’s, accessories and junior’s.
Hardgoods was the only category that increased during the month.
Zumiez’s Blue Tomato chain in Europe continues to outperform consolidated results.
For the entire first quarter, same-store sales rose 3%, the company said.
Zumiez ended the month with 616 stores.
