Apple is closing about a dozen stores in four states that have rising coronavirus cases, according to news reports.
Apple was one of the first large retailers in mid-March to close its stores nationwide because of the pandemic.
Stores that will be closed include two stores near Naples, Fla; two near Charlotte, N.C.; one in Greenville, S.C.; and six across Arizona, according to the Wall Street Journal. Apple has 271 U.S. stores.
Businesses of all kinds, many of whom are just getting on their feet after mandatory lockdowns, have been concerned about a second wave of the virus in the fall and winter. Not many have anticipated the potential for more shutdowns so soon after reopening.
In Apple stores that have reopened, the company is requiring that customers and staff wear masks and is doing temperature checks of all who enter.
