Former Quiksilver and Lost executive Dave Rosenberger is joining Asphalt Yacht Club as the new CEO.

Dave will lead the transition as AYC moves its operation to a new global headquarters in Vista, CA. Previously, the brand was based in both New York and California.

Before joining Quiksilver and Lost, Dave owned the M-Pire skate shop and skatepark in Maryland so understands the skate culture.

In a statement, Dave said:

“I am simply thrilled to join AYC in this role. Skate is a big part of my background, my original entrée into the action sports business over 25 years ago.  I spent the last 15 years at Quiksilver and Lost educating myself in the various parts of the business and I am excited to take my experience to focus on AYC.

“This brand has a great name and great team, it will appeal to a broader market, but we will stay true to our ideals,” he continued. “The industry has been educated about what happens when we lose sight of that.  AYC has a lot of personality, creativity and enthusiasm with this crew and I look forward to building the team in California. I’ll focus on bringing great product to market, developing our core business, implementing operational efficiencies and building an inspiring company culture,” he said.

Stevie Williams, a professional skateboarder who founded Asphalt Yacht Club in 2013, said:

“We needed someone who knew business, but who also understood skateboarding, the culture, and where we’re trying to go with AYC. I think we found all of that in Dave, and I’m excited to have him as part of the family.”

Dave starts his new job Sept. 1.
