The annual SIA snow show got underway Thursday in Denver, and we have photos from the show floor.

There was lots of talk about the warm winter in Europe, the Eastern half of the U.S. and in Japan, and of the strong snow year in the west.

The industry’s biggest snowboard brand, Burton, showed its main lines off site again this year, but had booths for Anon and its Learn to Ride program on the show floor.

Manufacturers I talked to are very happy the show will move to early December in 2017, though retailers seem a little wary of the date change. Brands told me while they are eager to show the lines earlier they won’t require retailers to write orders during the busy holiday period.

Incoming SIA President Nick Sargent told us he plans to give the December 2017 show a major facelift, by both adding more educational options and bringing a more fun, youthful, modern vibe to the show floor. Sargent officially becomes SIA President on Saturday evening.
