Rick Irons, the Dragon Global Brand Manager, is departing the company.

Rick worked at Surfer Magazine for 15 years, working his way up from advertising sales to publisher, before moving to Dragon eight years ago.

At Dragon, he led the marketing for a multi-category, global brand. Dragon’s two main product categories are snow goggles and sunglasses. Eyewear giant Marchon purchased Dragon in 2012.

Rick, who is well known in the industry, sent the following email to his friends and colleagues yesterday.

“This is my last week here at Dragon, as I’ll be moving on.  I’m thankful to Will Howard and Aaron Behle for bringing me into this brand eight years ago.

“Over these years, I’ve learned and grown exponentially, but most importantly, I’ve formed solid relationships with good people.  I’m proud of the things we’ve accomplished for the brand and it’s been awesome working with all our retailers, athletes, media and the Dragon crew.

“Right now, I’m excited about what comes next for me and I’m looking forward to new opportunities to learn and grow.”
