Every category recorded sales declines at The Buckle in September, and the women’s business remains particularly tough.
Overall, same-store sales declined 6.7% for the month.
Men’s sales fell 2%, and accounted for 42% of total sales. Strong categories included casual bottoms, knit shirts, shorts and accessories.
Women’s sales declined 8%, and accounted for 58% of total sales. Strong categories included casual bottoms, woven tops and dresses.
Accessories sales fell 1.5% in men’s and women’s combined, and footwear sales dropped 1%.
Year-to-date, The Buckle’s same-store sales were down 2.8% through Oct. 4.
The Buckle operates 465 stores.
