Amuse Society partner Summer Rapp will continue to design swim for the brand but has moved into a consultancy role and is less involved in day-to-day operations.
We had heard there were some changes there, and asked Paul Naude, who is also a partner in the brand via his company, Stokehouse Unlimited, for more information.
Add-black, the design firm owned by Summer and her husband, Stever, will continue to design for Amuse among other clients. Summer remains a shareholder in Amuse.
Amuse will have been in the market for one year this November. In a short amount of time, the brand has made an impact on store floors.
Paul said the team, including partner and sportswear designer Mandy Fry, is pleased with how the first year has gone. They’ve achieved their goal of creating a contemporary beach fashion brand that works in both the specialty and fashion markets and they see it continuing, he said.
Amuse is currently booking its second spring season, and “we are very pleased with the growth that’s coming in,” he said. “It’s very healthy growth.”
In addition to Amuse Society, Vissla apparel and D’Blanc eyewear are also under the Stokehouse umbrella.
