FUEL TV is amplifying and expanding a grass roots campaign to support the action sports industry by offering brands free commercial slots on its platform.

#UnitedActionSports was first started by industry veteran Tom Jones of Jones Brand Works.

“The ideas was really simple,” Tom said. “To get all the brands and shops to pick a day to do something together to stoke people out. I wanted to just light a match to see if we could get something going.”

FUEL TV was working on ideas to help the industry as well and reached out to Tom. Now FUEL TV has found a way to expand the concept by offering action sports brands a way to stay visible and relevant during the pandemic.

“We wanted to do our part,” CEO Fernando Figueiredo said. “We have relied on brands for so long to be great content and advertising partners. We are all in this together, and it’s an easy thing for us to do. Send us your spots and we’ll run them.”

To participate, brands can email united@fuel.tv, and the FUEL TV team will be in touch. They are accepting 30 and 60 second spots.

Currently, FUEL TV airs in 97 countries around the world including recent launches in Mexico and Australia. They also have a presence in China.

And, it sounds like FUEL TV may be returning to North America very soon, though Fernando could not provide details about that quite yet.

He did want people to know that FUEL TV has returned to its original vision of surf, skate and snow programming.

For Tom, it’s gratifying to see FUEL TV amplify the #UnitedActionSports message.

“It’s great to see them recognize how important it is that we all work together to make sure we have an industry still standing when this whole thing is over,” he said.
