Helen of Troy, the parent company of Hydro Flask, Osprey, and other brands, appointed a new CEO who previously served as vice president and GM of Nike of North America.
Scott Uzzell, who left Nike in late 2024, also led Nike-owned Converse for four years and worked at The Coca-Cola Company as president of the venturing and emerging brands group. He will begin his new role Sept. 1.
Uzzell’s “…intimate knowledge of brand building and his ability to unite and engage teams is exactly what Helen of Troy needs as it enters its next chapter to boost product innovation and growth,” said Helen of Troy Chairman Timothy Meeker in a statement.
Interim CEO Brian Gass will return to his role as CFO.
In April, former CEO Noel Geoffroy announced Helen of Troy would abandon its forecast for fiscal 2026 in light of tariffs and the uncertainty they presented. A month later, Geoffroy departed after the board terminated her without cause after less than two years in the role.
In July, the company missed fiscal 2026 first-quarter profit and sales estimates and gave a weak Q2 outlook on falling sales and the impact of tariffs.
Uzzell said in a statement that he looks forward to “working with Helen of Troy’s talented associates to return the company to consistent growth and deliver strong value creation for shareholders.”
Uzzell began his career in sales and marketing for leading consumer goods companies, including Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, and Nabisco, before returning to Coca-Cola in 2001. Uzzell, who received his B.S. in business from Florida A&M University and his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, also sits on the SC Johnson Company board of directors.
Helen of Troy Limited owns a wide range of brands including OXO, Hydro Flask, Osprey, Vicks, Braun, Honeywell, PUR, Hot Tools, Drybar, Curlsmith, Revlon, and Olive & June.
