L*Space is launching its second exclusive collection for Hawaii at a party tonight in Waikiki.
The Aloha Paradise collection includes five swim styles and will only be sold by retailers in Hawaii including Bikini Bird, Honolua Surf, Hi-Tech, Nordstrom, Simmer Hawaii and Designing Wahine Emporium. L*Space added on a small apparel collection that is an early release to Hawaii and ties back to the swim.
The invitation-only party tonight will feature gift bags, a perfume bar, music drinks and food. The party will be co-hosted by local influencer Casey Evans.
We asked L*Space’s Debby Martin, who heads up wholesale sales and retail marketing, a few questions about the collection.
How important is the Hawaii market to L*Space’s business?Â
Debby Martin: Hawaii continues to be a home away from home for L*Space. As we continue our growth and building market share for the brand, we wanted to give the islands a capsule all their own.
Last year we launched with swim only, and with that success we branched out and added apparel as well to promote alongside the Aloha Paradise collection.
What kind of aesthetic were you going for with the collection? Â
Debby Martin: For this collection, we aimed to capture the essence of the islands with a contemporary spin. The Aloha Paradise print has that nostalgic Hawaii feel and we offered a wide range of silhouettes.
We really wanted to create something for everyone with this capsule and introduced apparel to round out the assortment for the on and off-beach lifestyle.
Are more retailers carrying the collection this year as compared to last?Â
Debby Martin: We have expanded our retail footprint among all types of retail and it has been exciting to see the retail come together and grow. Retailers like that the capsule is exclusive to Hawaii and that it won’t be sold on our own site.
