Tobias Gröber is leaving ISPO parent company Messe München as its executive director of the consumer goods business unit after a 28-year run that began with an internship at ISPO.
“After 28 years at Messe München full of challenges, successes and experiences, it is time for me to start a new chapter and take the next step in my professional career in the trade show industry,” Gröber said in a statement. “I look back on my time at Messe München with great appreciation and at the same time look forward to the exciting tasks that lie ahead of me.”
Gröber will leave at the end of April and will be joining skilled trades and craft fair company Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen (GHM) as its CEO in May, according to his post on LinkedIn.
Exhibition Director Lena Haushofer will take over leading the consumer goods business unit alongside Head of Sales & Marketing Christoph Rapp and Head of Event Management Saskia Rettenbacher.
“We would like to thank Tobias Gröber for his extraordinary commitment, which he has shown from day one at Messe München and with which he has contributed to the success of our company,” said Messe München Group CEOs Stefan Rummel and Reinhard Pfeiffer in a statement. “Tobias Gröber has managed his trade shows creatively, with innovative concepts and with great industry knowledge in both good and difficult times, and has inspired people for them.”
