Nike and SKIMS are teaming up to launch a new fitness brand called NikeSKIMS aimed at inviting more women and athletes into sports and movement.
The first collection will debut in the U.S. this spring in some retail locations and online, according to a news release. NikeSKIMs will launch globally in 2026.
The brand’s offerings will include apparel, footwear, and accessories, and will combine Nike’s commitment to innovation, sport science, and athlete insights with SKIMS’ commitment to inclusivity and the female form.
“Nike and SKIMS share a deep commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and pushing boundaries, driven by an unwavering belief in the power of women,” said Kim Kardashian, SKIMS co-founder and chief creative officer, in a statement. “This partnership is the culmination of that shared vision, delivering product that is meticulously designed to sculpt and perform for every body. Every single detail has been obsessed over and carefully considered. We’re incredibly excited to unveil our first collection this spring.”
Nike’s focus on women made headlines recently with its Super Bowl ad, which featured WNBA star Caitlin Clark, track and field sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, and gymnast Jordan Chiles.
Nike has struggled in recent years, losing market share to competitors such as Hoka, On, and New Balance. After multiple rounds of layoffs, it replaced former CEO John Donahoe with Nike veteran Elliott Hill in September 2024.
“We’re energized by the opportunity to build a new brand and shake things up for the next generation of athletes with NikeSKIMS,” said Heidi O’Neill, Nike president of consumer, product and brand, in a statement. “This partnership brings together the best of both brands and unlocks an incredible opportunity to disrupt the industry with our shared passion and commitment to innovation. We will invite even more athletes into sport and movement with product that makes them feel strong and sexy.”
The North Face’s recent collaboration with Skims sold out and was one of its most successful ever, according to VF Corp. CEO Bracken Darrell on VF’s third-quarter earnings call in January. Darrell said it “set a new bar for global collaborations, execution, and impact, and was one of the fastest-selling collections in the history of The North Face.”
“Over the past five years, SKIMS has redefined the intimates and loungewear industry,” said Jens Grede, SKIMS co-founder & CEO. “Now, by partnering with Nike, the undisputed leader in athletic performance and innovation, we’re poised to create a new standard in the global fitness and activewear market. This partnership will empower individuals to express themselves authentically, merging SKIMS’ focus on body confidence and self-expression with Nike’s relentless pursuit of excellence.”
