Revelyst, the parent company of Fox, Simms Fishing, Camelbak and more, announced it has divested its Gold Tip and Bee Stinger brands to archery and sporting goods equipment company Escalade, Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
The sale will sharpen Revelyst’s focus on its core categories and accelerate investments in sports technology and outdoor gear, according to a news release. Gold Tip, a manufacturer of carbon arrows founded in 1989, and its Bee Stinger line of bow stabilizers, will now be part of Escalade’s archery portfolio.
“The sale of Gold Tip and Bee Stinger allows us to further concentrate our focus on our key categories and brands while accelerating our investments in sports technology and gear,” said Eric Nyman, CEO of Revelyst. “Escalade is a natural home and owner for the Gold Tip and Bee Stinger business, and I’m thrilled these brands will be in their capable hands.”
Since separating from its ammunition business in January and going private, Revelyst has transformed the Simms headquarters in Bozeman, Mont. into a hub for several brands and hired Simon Waters, the company’s first president of licensing and entertainment, to pioneer the company’s new licensing arm.
Escalade’s portfolio includes Bear Archery, Trophy Ridge and Cajun Bowfishing.
“We have been committed to archery for generations,” said Escalade CEO Armin Boehm. “Adding Gold Tip and Bee Stinger to our archery family will further strengthen our market position and expand our opportunities.”
Jon Lené, President of Bear Archery, will lead the integration of Gold Tip and Bee Stinger into Escalade’s archery portfolio.
