Amer Sports, the parent company of Arc’teryx, Salomon, and Wilson, grew its Golden Week revenue in China by 60% year-over-year, according to a news release shared by the company.
Golden Week, a national holiday in China, ran from Oct. 1 to Oct. 7, and followed the announcement of a government stimulus program, which has sent stocks soaring.
Amer Sports CEO James Zheng shared the information with investors and analysts on Oct. 8 in Shanghai.
“Amer Sports’ Greater China revenue growth exceeded 60% year-over-year for the seven-day Golden Week period with strength across the
portfolio driven by accelerating store sales at Salomon, Wilson and Arc’teryx,” reads the release.
“The Company continues to see an outsized growth opportunity in China, notably in the outdoor segment, which has been resilient despite the weak economy.”
Arc’Teryx, China Contribute to Drive Strong Revenue Growth
In Amer Sports most recent earnings report for the quarter ended June 30, Arc’teryx’s technical apparel continued to drive strong revenue growth for the parent company.
Helsinki, Finland-based Amer reported 16% year-over-year sales growth in the quarter, reaching $994 million. Direct-to-consumer (DTC) revenue was up by 40% to $449 million, and wholesale increased by 2% to $545 million. Revenue in the technical performance category, which includes Arc’teryx and the Peak Performance brand, grew by 34% year-over-year to $407 million.
Revenue from sales in Greater China grew by 54% year-over-year in the quarter to $289 million. Revenue in Asia Pacific, which excludes China, grew by 45% to $106 million.
