Volcom and Selina are teaming up long-term to create surfing destinations for nomads and remote workers, according to an announcement from Volcom’s parent company Authentic Brands Group.
The board sports brand and the hospitality company are launching Selina x Volcom Surf Club – described as a new experience for active, economically conscious and socially minded young professionals and surf enthusiasts. The first club is set to open this fall in Peniche, Portugal, followed by five additional locations in key surfing destinations: Sayulita, Mexico; Florianopolis, Brazil; Santa Teresa, Costa Rica; Jaco, Costa Rica; and Bocas del Toro, Panama.
“We are excited about this partnership as it creates a new vertical for Volcom and engages the next wave of modern professionals,” Wesley Chu, SVP of APAC, Spyder and Volcom at ABG said in a statement. “Through this partnership, we are able to stay true to our mission of connecting our fans through the pursuit of a passion for surfing.”
The Selina X Volcom Surf Clubs will allow participants to immerse themselves in local culture through food, spirits, music, art, and events. Other activities will include group and private surf lessons, surf camps, retreats and excursions with the option for guests to rent equipment. Each destination also will have seasonal surf events, competitions and community meetups.
On top of that, Volcom and Selina are releasing a limited capsule collection of hoodies, T-shirts and hats, customized for each location where they will be available for purchase.
