Outerknown drew from vintage vibes in a collaboration with Seea and pro surfer Sage Erickson.
The capsule includes a surf suit, one-piece, and two-piece swim styles ranging in price from $80 for the bottoms to $170 for the surf suit. The line is currently sold direct-to-consumer through the Outerknown and Seea online shops.
Design inspiration for the collection is a nod to Olympic sports in the ‘70s and ‘80s.
The launch is being supported with digital marketing, including emails and social media.
The capsule represents the first time Outerknown and Seea have collaborated on a collection. However in the past, Outerknown has sold Seea suits on its site.
The collection also marks a continuation of Outerknown’s partnership with Erickson, who has been an ambassador for the Culver City, California-based brand since 2020 as it sought to make a push into the women’s market.
Erickson signed on about a year after Outerknown launched into women’s, calling out the brand’s sustainable efforts as a top reason for wanting to partner with the company.
This latest launch has many sustainable elements, with the pieces made from a blend of 80% recycled polyester and 20% spandex. Seea furthers the sustainability factor with swimsuit repairs and recycling, which are features it offers for all its suits.
