The holiday season at Zumiez delivered strong results in North America, offset by challenges in Europe.

Comparable sales for the nine-week holiday period ending Jan. 4, 2026 rose by 2.9% overall, boosted by North America, which increased 6.5% in the period, according to a news release.

“We are pleased with the 6.5% comparable sales growth in our North America business over the holiday period, continuing the strong trends we experienced throughout the back-to-school season,” said CEO Rick Brooks in a statement.

Comparable sales for the company’s international segment, which includes operations in Europe and Australia, decreased by 8.9%.

“At the same time, our heightened focus on full-price selling in Europe drove a 600-basis point improvement in our European product margin quarter-to-date,” Brooks said. “While European sales were less than anticipated, this product margin growth, combined with the ongoing strength in North America has allowed us to increase our earnings guidance for the quarter. We look forward to building on our recent progress in fiscal 2026 and generating greater value for our shareholder in the years to come.”

Based on holiday results and softer international sales, Zumiez anticipates fiscal 2025 fourth-quarter net sales will be between $287 million and $290 million, compared to its previous guidance range of $291 million to $296 million. Earnings per share for the quarter is now expected to be between $1.05 and $1.10, up from the prior guidance range of $0.97 to $1.07. The increase is driven by stronger product margin in Europe and North America as well as expense management.

In December, Zumiez executives reported 10% revenue growth in the third quarter and noted a turnaround in the global skate hardgoods category.

Zumiez operates 1,400 stores globally.
