Published: July 15, 2018 Press Release

The Surfrider Foundation, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our ocean, waves and beaches, announced the addition of Adriana Estrada, a leader in brand and innovation strategy, to the organization’s Board of Directors.

“We’re pleased to welcome Adriana to the Board of Directors,” said Dr. Chad Nelsen, CEO of the Surfrider Foundation. “In addition to being a lifelong surfer and outdoor enthusiast, Adriana has a unique ability to bring together diverse communities of people who share our values. She is committed to making sure that our mission finds a new voice in a generation of activists who will partner with us in preserving our ocean, waves and beaches.”

Adriana partners with organizations to develop transformative products, services and solutions by moving beyond standard frameworks and thinking. Over the past ten years, she has developed a new customer offering for Westin, a multimedia experience for IBM, and innovation models for P&G and PacSun.

“Growing up in Los Angeles, I learned the importance of protecting our ocean and beaches when my family joined local groups to fight pollution in Santa Monica Bay,” said Adriana. “I have seen the threats our beaches face—especially from water and plastic pollution. Thankfully, the Surfrider Foundation and its network of volunteers are addressing these issues and working tirelessly to protect our beaches for everyone. I look forward to helping inspire a new, more diverse generation to get involved and safeguard our ocean and coasts for the future.”

A graduate of Stanford University, UCLA Law School and the Fashion Institute of Technology, Adriana lives with her husband in Brooklyn, New York.
