ALLIED Feather & Down Showcases Top Products Utilizing Traceability Platform

There are more than 100 global outdoor and fashion brands on board.
Published: October 7, 2019 Press Release

Launched in 2015 in what began as the now omni-present Responsible Down Standard (RDS), Allied Feather & Down’s TrackMyDown traceability and education tool is highlighted in some of the world’s top outdoor, fashion and lifestyle brands. After helping to create the now globally recognized standard in collaboration with The North Face and gifting it to the Textile Exchange, ALLIED wanted to take traceability around down insulation and the global supply chain to the next level.

“TrackMyDown was built as a way to turn the down jacket, sleeping bag, comforter or pillow inside out — allowing access to critical performance parameters and information that was never known thanks  to a notoriously opaque supply chain,” said Daniel Uretsky, President at ALLIED Feather & Down. “The quality of down inside a garment is incredibly complex and much more than just fill power. It’s not only important that the consumer knows that their down has been responsibly sourced, but also processed sustainably and in a way to retain the performance and durability that down is known for. This tool helps create differentiation for our partners and helps to build consumer education for one of the most complex ingredients in the outdoor industry.”

STIO Amalia Down Jacket

One of the fastest-growing outdoor apparel brands in the U.S., Stio introduces two new Allied-filled, RDS-certified insulators: the Colter Down Jacket for men and women, and the Amalia Down Jacket for women. Featuring waterproof 2L Stryder polyester microfiber fabric and 650-fill PFC-free, wax-based HyperDRY water-repellent down, the Colter transitions off the ski resort and into town with ease. The Amalia fuses elevated style with mid-winter warmth in a new, fashion-forward silhouette featuring a wide, oversized collar, offset front closure, and cropped hem.

Montane Men’s and Women’s Resolute Jacket

The Resolute is an ultra-warm 800 fill power down mountaineering jacket for reliable protection in harsh mountain conditions. Constructed using Pertex Quantum Pro with a highly water-resistant coating for enhanced weather protection, it is filled with 250 grams of 90/10 water resistant fluorocarbon-free Allied HyperDRY goose down at 800+ fill power. Featuring a fully adjustable roll-away insulated helmet-compatible hood, boxwall construction in the core body with stitched through sleeves, it weighs in at just 24 ounces for men. Resolute features full-length two-way YKK Aquaguard Vislon front zip with internal storm flap, external chest pocket, two microfleece-lined hand pockets, internal stretch mesh drop pocket, adjustable cuffs and hem with cinchable drawcord. MSRP: $360

Helly Hansen Rivaridge

A warm and water resistant men’s puffy with 4-way stretch fabric, H2Flow mechanical venting, and a Life Pocket, the Rivaridge will be the best of all worlds: a super warm down jacket that breathes, keeps out water, and also moves with you. The Rivaridge Jacket features a drop seat to keep you warm on chairlifts and on the slopes. Part of the Helly Tech Professional series, it features welded waterproof down channels; 4-way full stretch fabric; H2Flow mechanical venting for optimal comfort; and the HH Life Pocket with Aerogel insulation to keep your devices from freezing. MSRP: $525

HH FW19 Rivaridge red loBlack Diamond Vision Down Parka

The Vision Down Parka will be BD’s warmest insulated jacket, stuffed with high-lofting 850-fill, RDS-certified HyperDRY goose down insulation that resists moisture and offers sleeping bag-level warmth in seriously cold conditions. The Vision Down Parka’s ultralight shell fabric features a proprietary Japanese fabric made ultra-tear resistant thanks to its liquid crystal polymer ripstop construction. The adjustable insulated hood seals in warmth while wearing a helmet, while the two-way front zipper allows access to your belay device. Oversized hand, chest and internal drop pockets store gloves, water bottles and other on-route essentials. MSRP: $399

Foehn Men’s Robson

The Robson Down Hoody challenges what a down insulator should look like, and merges aesthetics and performance into a unique package. Constructed with Japanese nylon and 800 Fill Power Allied Down insulation, the Robson uses best in class ingredients to construct one of the most stylish and warmest insulator pieces available. The 2-Way Mechanical Stretch Japanese Fabric features a light DWR treatment to shed moisture, The Robson packs into its hand pocket and is decked out with laser cut armpit venting and easy side-entry zip. MSRP: $260

“After years of research, we knew it was necessary to develop a tool that would engage the potential purchaser of a down product to help them make more informed decisions,” continued Uretsky. “As we continue to be at the forefront of global issues such as Palm Oil Free Certification, recycled down, and the reduction of microplastics in the environment, we applaud all of our partner brands and others working to make a difference in the apparel industry.”
