The 38th annual Burton U·S·Open Snowboarding Championships are rolling out another incredible Burton Concert Series lineup featuring four nights of free entertainment in Vail, Colorado. This year’s roster of live bands and DJs includes legendary hip-hop group Arrested Development, chart-climbing electronic-dance artist Big Wild, genre-bending artist Theophilus London, in-demand producer and Jazz-Fusion artist Thundercat, the Queen of Bounce Big Freedia, 2019 Red Bull Music 3Style World Champion DJ J Espinosa and more!
The Burton Concert Series runs Wednesday through Saturday, Feb. 26th through 29th, in the heart of Colorado’s Vail Village. These free live performances will take place at the Solaris outdoor concert stage following each day of exciting Burton U·S·Open snowboarding action at Golden Peak.
Highlights of this year’s Burton Concert Series include:
- Arrested Development have been trailblazers since first hitting the scene in 1991slamming the world of hip hop with defiant lyrics of hope with 3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of…Arrested Development won Grammys for Best New Artist and Best Rap Performance and was named “Band Of The Year” in 1992 by Rolling Stone. The band’s most recent album, Craft & Optics, released in 2018.
- Big Wild is one of the fastest-rising dance and electronic artists of 2019 coinciding with the release of the album SuperDream. Big Wild, aka Jackson Stell, crafts lush soundscapes and sweeping melodies that challenge the status quo. His atmospheric and wide-spanning sound traverses electronic, indie, pop, and beyond.
- Thundercatis a singer, songwriter, and producer from Los Angeles known for blurring the lines between musical genres. First gaining distinction as the bassist for Suicidal Tendencies, he has since dropped four solo albums, collaborated with producer Flying Lotus, and appeared on Kendrick Lamar’s 2015 album “To Pimp a Butterfly.” He has gone on to collaborate with everyone from Pharrell and Wiz Khalifa to Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, and Kamasi Washington.
- Theophilus Londonis in the spotlight fresh off the release of his new album Bebey, featuring high-profile collaborations with Tame Impala, Raekwon, Lil Yachty and others. As a singer, rapper, songwriter, and producer, he first hit Billboard’s R&B/hip-hop chart with his debut album “Timez Are Weird These Days” in 2011. He then pierced the Billboard 200 with his second album “Vibes!” The frequent collaborator was a featured artist on Kanye’s “All Day,” which earned him a ‘Best Rap Performance’ Grammy nomination.
- Ghost Light has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the jam scene since forming in late 2017. The band is a true collaboration; five personalities, five perspectives, and five unique approaches towards one common sound. Already the band has played some of the biggest festival stages around bringing a unique live experience featuring the band’s collective energy and improvisation.
- The closing party at Dobson Ice Arena on Saturday night will be a high energy delivery from 2019 Red Bull Music 3Style World Champion DJ J Espinosa,plus 2019 Artist To Watch 99 Neighbors.

The entire Burton Concert Series continues to be FREE and open to the public. The Dobson closing party is a free, ticketed event for ages 21 and over. Tickets are available at the Burton Pop Up Shop at the base of the slopestyle course and in the Burton stores at Vail Village and Lionshead.
