Business Insider Names Igloo “Best” at OR Summer Market

At the Outdoor Retailer (OR) Summer Market Show in Denver, Colorado, Business Insider presented Igloo with the “BEST Outdoor Retailer” show award. For the second OR show in a row, Igloo has been awarded and recognized for their commitment to innovation and environmentally friendly design, with the launch of RECOOL, the world’s first cooler made from biodegradable materials.

“We previewed the RECOOL at last year’s winter OR show and to see that it won us another award after its official release is truly amazing,” stated Brad Blankinship, VP Marketing, Igloo Products Corp. “This project was important to us, we wanted to create something to have a real impact on our environment — it’s incredible to see how everyone has taken to it.”

“I loaded the RECOOL with ice and let it sit for six days. The ice was gone at some point the next day, but what amazed me most was that the cooler didn’t break down or turn into soggy paper mache,” said Owen Burke, Buying Guides Reporter at Business Insider. “This doesn’t replace a good insulated cooler by any means, but it gets the award for best disposable cooler, taking the place of cheap, toxic, brittle Styrofoam that hardly ever survives even an initial use.”

At this year’s OR Summer Market, Igloo also teamed up with world-renowned artist and brand ambassador David Rollyn to customize Igloo Playmates for auction during the show. Rollyn created unique pieces of art where 100 percent of the proceeds raised from the auction will benefit the nonprofit foundation, Keep America Beautiful®, and their mission to inspire and educate people to take action every day to improve and beautify their community environment.
