BILLABONG HQ – IRVINE, CALIFORNIA, USA – (July 26, 2015) – Billabong is proud to announce the re-signing of Jack Freestone to its international surf team.

Freestone, 23, born in Tweeds Heads, New South Wales, is one of the most talented surfers in the world. Exuding equal amounts of style on land as he does in the water, Jack balances competitive prowess with astonishing free surfing that continually stands out on the world stage. Known by his friends for his laidback attitude and down to earth personality, Jack Freestone is at the forefront of progressive surfing and enjoying every moment of it.

For Jack, his career highlights include winning the ASP World Junior Championship in 2010 and again in 2012.  Most recently he’s released multiple video edits that have gone viral, and has also starred in Kai Neville’s latest film “Cluster,” turning in a mind blowing performance. Jack’s yearn to continue traveling combined with his innovative free surfing and thirst for competition set him apart from the rest of today’s top pros for sheer well-roundedness and adaptability.

This competitive season has been Jack’s most successful to date with strong results, including a second place finish at the Burton Automotive Pro in Newcastle that has him currently sitting at seventh on the World Qualifying Series. Halfway through the year and going into the US Open of Surfing, a venue that suits Jack’s progressive approach, his ultimate goal of making the World Tour is well within reach.  All eyes will be on Jack as he continues his charge to qualify for the WT.

“When I started surfing, Billabong was the brand I wanted to be with more then anything,” said Freestone. “Now, to be continuing my relationship with the Billabong family makes me as happy as I can be.”

“Jack has established himself as one of the top, most exciting young surfers in the sport. Whether it’s winning Jr. World Titles, or filming for his next movie part – Jack always brings his A-game. ” said Chris Heffner, Billabong Global Team Manager.  “The future is bright for this kid and we couldn’t be more stoked to continue to have him represent Billabong.”
