With over 25 years of wetsuit design experience, Scott Boot has moved to Billabong’s global headquarters in Irvine, CA to focus his efforts further in showing the brands credibility in wetsuits.
Boot, originally from New South Wales, has relocated from the Gold Coast bringing his expertise, focus and devotion to elevating Billabong wetsuits like never before.
For Scott, wetsuits are in his DNA.

Scott has a long list of achievements. During his days at O’Neill he introduced the range of Psycho suits, and has received awards for developing the Billabong V1 Inflatable wetsuit and being the first to introduce BOA closure system to wetsuits and neoprene boots.
The list goes on for what Boot’s career boasts, and the industry is definitely aware of his experience.
“Scott Boot is one of the most respected wetsuit designers in the world,” wrote empire Ave. “With a career that has spanned more than two decades he has sheathed more surfers in rubber than just about anyone.”
As Billabong’s Global Director of Wetsuits, Scott’s extremely excited about the current and future ranges of Billabong Wetsuits, in particular Furnace Carbon.
“We’ve pioneered Carbon Fiber yarned lining into our wetsuits to conduct heat faster,” says Boot.
“With Jacquard double knitting of the Carbon into the suit it allows for maximum flexibility and fast drying. Furnace Carbon is, without a doubt, the world’s most advanced wetsuit.”
Working alongside Global Creative Director Brad Lancaster in the US, the two have also been able to create a youthful beacon in the Revolution Series wetsuit. The suit carries a vibrant aesthetic through the company’s signature boardshort color pattern with minimalist construction, yet all the warmth and reliability Billabong wetsuits are known for.
