This month, BYRD HAIR released its all new BYRD Bath Collection with a radical new construction and design. While BYRD Bath had been a consistent top-seller for the brand, there had been customer feedback on the actual bottle that didn’t go unheard. Consumers loved the product and its after wash cleanliness, however, they had one small suggestion. To talk about that, we talked to BYRD Hair Founder and President, Chase Wilson.
So what is different with the BYRD Bath Collection?
We’ve entirely redesigned the bottle and we’ve improved the price to $20 for each product (Bodywash, Shampoo and Conditioner). The main motivation behind the bottle update was to eliminate any denting and issues we found with our old aluminum bottle. We’re really stoked with how the overall performance and design turned out and can’t wait to share it with our customers.
Did anything change on the ingredient side?
The ingredients remained true to their original formulas. Still the same great blends of ocean inspired ingredients that make up our Bodywash, Shampoo, and Conditioner.
You also lowered the price. How has the feedback been thus far?
The feedback has been very positive. We offered a pre-order exclusive to our newsletter members on BYRDhair.com and we saw an impressive amount of subscribers convert, so they could immediately get their hands on it; and the sell-through has been has reassuring.
And you donated 10% of all sales from the first week to Hurricane Irma relief efforts. How did the Hurricane impact you personally as well as the brand?
My parents have a house in the Bahamas, so we were paying close attention to the storm and the effects it was having down there, as well as on the East Coast . Thankfully, Irma missed our house, but to see the aftermath it left everywhere else, I wanted to do a small part in helping those left with nothing.
Where can shoppers find the BYRD Bath Collection?
It’s available on our website and through our retail partners who we’ve been hearing great feedback from.
ABOUT BYRD
BYRD hatched in 2012 when professional surfer and Newport Beach, Calif. native Chase “Big Bird”Wilson set out to create a pomade for his on the go lifestyle. Inspired by the legend of his great grandfather’s hair tonic and barbershop at the storied Metropole hotel in Fargo, North Dakota, Wilson began his quest to create a modern-day pomade. Designed for the gentleman surfer, BYRD products harken back to an era when grooming was an essential part of one’s daily routine with a nod to classic ‘60s surf culture. The first batch of BYRD’s original formula pomade was created just steps from the iconic surf break at Echo Beach where sun, salt and sand make for some of world’s best hair. #LookSlick. www.BYRDhair.com
