Chelsea Tuach, the 20 year-old Caribbean-born sensation who locked down a spot on the 2016 Women’s World Championship Tour, has renewed her contract with Dragon as she embarks on her maiden voyage to the surfing’s biggest stage. She’s been in the Dragon family since the age of 14 and has had an incredible run to become one of the best surfers in the world today.
Her journey to the Women’s WCT Tour was hard fought and began when she became the first Barbadian female to win a Pro event outside the Caribbean, the 2010 NKF Women’s Pro. In 2013, she began competing on the ASP Junior Pro circuit and again made history by becoming the first Barbadian to win an ASP Junior Pro title; the Cocoa Beach event. Dominance in that series earned her the WSL North American Junior Female title in 2013 and again in 2015, her last year competing as a junior. With her 2015 win at the PantÃn Classic in Spain, Chelsea secured her spot on the 2016 WSLÂ Women’s Championship Tour.
With unquestionable skill and experience in competition stepping to the WCT gives Chelsea the opportunity to compete and surf with the world’s best. She has already competed in the first events of the 2016 WCT season and is gaining momentum at each event.Â
