Dakine Collaborates with Surf Artists in New Spring/Summer 17 Collections

Plate Lunch and Furrow Surf Craft lend their talents in new offerings.

Published: January 18, 2017 Press Release

With a heritage steeped in Hawaiian surf culture, Dakine is excited to announce two new artist collaborations within its Spring/Summer 2017 collections that celebrate the spirt of aloha.

For the men’s collection, the Plate Lunch x Dakine Collection is a heavy dose of classic Hawaii, complete with mac salad and two scoops of rice on the side. Born and raised on the North Shore of Maui, apparel company Plate Lunch is inspired by the beauty of Hawaii and its rich heritage and culture. Dakine partnered with owners Gregg and Cory Kaplan, sons of Dakine founder Rob Kaplan, in creating a collection of products influenced by backyard skate spots, waves with the boys, and hand-crafted radness. The duo created a two-toned hand-painted palm
print that is featured on surf leashes, traction pads, surfboard bag, the popular Party Bucket, Split Roller, and a variety of day packs, tees and hats.

For the ladies, Dakine partnered with Furrow Surf Craft creator and surfboard shaper, Christine Brailsford Caro, to create a collection of products that highlights Christine’s wood-carved artwork and board designs that are progressive yet simple in shape and form. The Furrow x Dakine Collection is inspired by the fun of riding waves, creativity, and a dedication to craftsmanship. The collection includes rashguards, surf leggings and shorts, the iconic Split Roller, an assortment of packs and totes, sun protection apparel and hats.

The collaboration collections will be available in mid-February 2017 at specialty retail and dakine.com.
