With powerful style and a range of tricks up his sleeve, that fact Colapinto is a San Clemente native ties well to Dragon’s history. The brand started just a few miles away from the Colapinto residence, and the Dragon Global HQ is located in his hometown. Raised in a family of die hard surfers, Griffin is focused, and at just 18-years-old, determined to make a name for himself worldwide.

Dragon has been supporting and working with the best athletes since the brand’s beginnings and Griffin joins a prestigious lineup of world class surfers. From Shane Dorian who signed with the brand the day it began, to guys like Rob Machado and Mick Fanning who started as groms, and still ride for the brand today.

Colapinto, who finished runner-up in the North America Pro Junior rankings last year, is a versatile surfer in big waves and grovelers alike. He finished 2015 with a stellar performance in maxed out conditions at the Billabong Pipeline Masters, and has already finished first at the Pipe Pro Junior as well as the Junior Pro in Cabo San Lucas in 2016.
