Elevety (www.elevety.com) is heading to the OR Snow Show and the SIA On-Snow Demo with a refined version of its groundbreaking Domio helmet audio communication device.
Domio is first interchangeable hands-free helmet accessory to provides users with a new way to stream audio content from their phone, in addition to the ability to make calls and send text messages, without the need for ear buds or earpad inserts that can limit the wearer’s ability to hear the environment around them. Elevety’s attendance at the OR Snow Show comes after a significant redesign and improvement of the Domio product, which made its debut to critical acclaim at the 2017 SIA Snow Show last year.
Unlike a portable Bluetooth speaker, Domio is intended for private use. Once connected to the user’s helmet, Domio’s proprietary Vibro-Audio™ micro-vibration technology, similar to what is used by Google Glass and hearing aids, makes it possible for the user to stream their smartphone’s audio directly to their inner ear, while still allowing them to hear the environment around them and remain fully aware of their surroundings.
Domio’s redesign comes after a full year of testing and refinement that vastly improves the products performance while significantly decreasing its size. While Elevety received significant pre-book orders for Domio during the Snow Show, the brand’s co-founders realized that if they delay shipping product until January 2018, both retail partners and the end consumer would receive a much better overall experience. After demoing and experiencing the new 2018 Domio, Elevety had the full support of their retail launch partners who were willing to wait until shipment. Note: Retail orders were shipped last week.
“Building the right product takes time. We didn’t want to rush a product to market that wasn’t the very best. The extra few months allowed us to make significant changes and improvements to the Domio. The feedback on the new units has been outstanding,” commented Bart Lipski, Elevety co-founder and co-CEO.
Domio is the perfect companion for skiers and snowboarders, as well as cyclists and other helmet wearers, who want to be able to listen to music, access their phone’s navigation app, take calls or send messages, in a safe and hands-free manner. The optional WhisperNC™ (Noise Cancellation) Mic accessory, which will be available later this year, allows Domio users to access the voice-activated features of their phone, dictate text messages and make phone calls. The Domio is packaged with multiple low-profile mounts that connect to helmets in the same way popular action cameras do, so owners can use one unit throughout a range of their personal helmets.
The Domio starts at $129 and retailers attending the OR Snow Show will be able to place at once orders for delivery in March, or place pre-book orders for delivery later in the year.
Retailers looking to connect with the Elevety sales team can receive a personal introduction before the OR Snow Show by emailing sales@elevety.com.
