Global Surf Industries (GSI) is proud to announce a new partnership with Surfing Australia that will be active from September 1st, 2016, across several key programs.
GSI comes on board as a support sponsor of the Weet-Bix SurfGroms program and supporter of the Surf For Life Project, providing both programs with soft-boards for participants to experience the joy of surfing.
Both GSI and Surfing Australia agree that a vital step in enabling these young participants to really engage with surfing throughout their life is having easy access to great soft surfboards as a fantastic first step into their own world of surfing.
“In line with our GSI company mantra – ‘Life is better when you surf’ – being able to allow and enable young people to engage that mantra through these two great programs with Surfing Australia is sensational,” said Mark Kelly CEO and Founder of GSI.
“I personally learned to surf when I was 30 years old. I would have loved to be given the opportunity to surf when I was a young kid. These kids and their parents are so lucky these programs exist today. Surfing provides such a rich experience.”
As part of the deal 12 GSI Gnaraloo soft-boards will be given away as part of the GSI Ride of the Month Competition which will activate across Surfing Australia’s social media channels in October 2016 and run till April 2017.
GSI will also provide soft-boards and become a supporter of Surf For Life Programs conducted during the nudie Australian Boardriders Battle series throughout 2016/17 at eight state qualifying events and the national final on February 17-19, 2017.
The Surf for Life Project aims to provide underprivileged children with the opportunity to learn to surf in a safe and exciting environment. The project aims to raise $100,000 and help 2,000 Aussie kids become surfers for life.
Further bolstering the relationship is GSI’s integration on Surfing Australia’s soon to be launched www.learntosurf.com platform. Learntosurf.com will be a new Surfing Australia digital platform that connects all surf schools and SUP schools to the major suppliers; agents; and distributors in the adventure activities market, and provides a one-stop booking service for affiliated surf and SUP schools in Australia.
GSI also becomes the provider of choice for soft-boards to all Surfing Australia Surf Schools throughout the partnership.
“We are stoked to announce this partnership with GSI,” said Surfing Australia CEO Andrew Stark.
“With the GSI mantra life is better when you surf, clearly there is outstanding alignment with our Surfing Australia purpose to create a healthier and happier Australia through surfing. The entry level to our sport development pathway is so critical to our overall success as an organization and sport and it will be fantastic to have GSI on board to offer quality soft board products to this market.”
