Industry + Intelligence seminars announced for 2016 SIA Snow Show

Free education day expands with new collaboration between SIA and NSAA

Published: November 9, 2015 Press Release

SnowSports Industries America (SIA),the snow sports industry’s member-owned trade association, has released the seminar schedule for Industry + Intelligence, a free day of educational seminars, industry networking and community on Wednesday, January 27, the day before the 2016 Snow Show opens at Denver’s Colorado Convention Center.

“Industry + Intelligence is huge. SIA has always done great seminars, but during the Show it’s so hard to attend and do everything. To do this the day before is awesome – I’m super stoked to attend again this year,” commented Jon Easdon, Blindside Snowboard Shop, Colorado Springs, CO.

This year, Industry + Intelligence kicks off the Snow Show with a new collaboration between The National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) and SIA. The day will include a State of the Industry address from NSAA President Michael Berry, as well as two seminars presented by NSAA’s research guru, Nate Fristoe of RRC Associates. 2016’s entire seminar lineup has now been posted at SIAsnowshow.com/intel, and brings together industry experts to deliver nearly 20 sessions curated exclusively for Snow. The industry day covers five core intel tracks – State of the Industry,Manufacturing and Production, Business Development, Marketing & Social Media, and the Specialty Retailer Series.  It’s a free day of education, inspiration and community that can’t be missed.

Michael Berry’s presentation, NSAA State of the Industry: 2015/16, will provide a view of the current state of the snow sports industry, including snow sports demographics, financial performance metrics, visitation trends, and operational best practices.

“The commitment that SIA and NSAA have made to work together to share research is intended to allow all segments of the ski and snowboard industry to benefit. In an increasingly complex and competitive world shared information is our first line of defense,” said Berry.

Fristoe will present the RRC research project on Millennial consumers, An Exploration of the Evolving Snow Sports Consumer. This session will focus on key findings from recent research designed to provide actionable guidance on adapting to the preferences and participation patterns of the Millennial generation.

Of course SIA Research Director Kelly Davis will be presenting her wildly popular Category Overviews for both hardgoods and softgoods at Industry+ Intelligence, and Davis and Fristoe will also be co-presenting a seminar about snow sports consumers.

“One of my favorite new additions to the SIA show is Industry & Intelligence:a series of great seminars, speakers and parties covering really relevant topics such as state of the industry, social media and my favorite: trends,”said Rhonda Swenson, Owner &Designer, Krimson Klover.

Find the entire seminar schedule posted at SIAsnowshow.com/intel and start planning now to take advantage of this free day of exclusive industry insight and education. Check out the Industry + Intelligence video, and get inspired for #SIAintel at #SIA16! This event is not to be missed!
