Baro Drywear, out of Vancouver, debuts its Fall 2016 collection to provide that often overlooked essential, offering waterproof jackets in classic street style at price points that won’t break the bank.
Baro Drywear was born out of necessity in the temperate rainforest of British Columbia, Canada, by two friends who grew up exploring the mountains before transitioning to city life in Vancouver. They noticed a continued demand for the technical function of their mountain outerwear in the wet climate, with style fit for the cubicle or cocktail lounge.
“We’re creating quality pieces which we feel are absent in the market,” explains co-founder Tyler Quarles. “During development, we recognized an opportunity to celebrate whatever mother nature throws at you and bring a positive vibe to bad weather.”
Baro launches their first collection with three styles for men and three for women centered around clean, classic design in neutral colorways that will stand the test of time. Men can choose from The Demarco, a classic mac coat featuring Baro’s signature three-layer technical fabric system and a removable hood; the Brockton, a modernized take on military style; and The Dean, a casual weatherproof bomber.
Women have their pick of designs that all feature a unique, durable take on Fall’s favorite trends. The York is classic with a touch of menswear in its oversize trench style, while the Charlie offers the edge of a moto jacket without the stress of caring for leather. The Northlands can pair perfectly with rain boots for the stormiest days.
All pieces are waterproof and breathable (10,000mm / 10,000g). The outer waterproof layer is paired with an interior sweat-wicking membrane that allows body moisture to escape, keeping you dry and comfortable.
