Huntington Beach, Calif., (October 7, 2017) – Katin, the original California surf company, and non-profit
organization A Walk On Water (AWOW) proudly present another stellar surf therapy event, hosted for
the third year at Katin’s birthplace in Huntington Beach, Calif.
In celebration of both surf culture and therapeutic companionship, Katin and AWOW invite family,
friends and supporters everywhere to join us for an event at Bolsa Chica State Beach, on Saturday,
October 7, 2017, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
AWOW, in company with Katin, is comprised of a dedicated family of watermen sharing the therapeutic
powers of the ocean with those in need. In addition to offering surf therapy to children with special
needs, families in need are provided an entire day of relief, which includes healthy helpings of delicious
breakfast and lunch meals. These events have always been and will always be completely free to the
families who attend.
AWOW hosts multiple surf therapy events throughout the year for families of children with special
needs and their friends. Surfing works to build self-confidence as the kids experience the incomparable
thrill of riding a wave and the healing power of the ocean. Katin is excited to join AWOW in sharing the
excitement of surfing with these kids by supporting this powerful cause.

Katin and n A Walk On Water (AWOW) have proudly joined forces for a powerful partnership, centered
on surf therapy for children with special needs and their families, as well as celebrating camaraderie and
surf culture.
After working for years with Surfer’s Healing, Katin was eager to spread even more surf therapy
opportunities to all children with special needs across the country.
Dale Rhodes, Katin Sales VP and seasoned AWOW surf instructor, first introduced the two surf-enthused
entities in 2014. After Katin’s first attendance at an AWOW surf therapy event, the Katin team fell in
love with the organization’s cause and Katin and AWOW became partners.
Katin and AWOW are a dedicated family of watermen sharing the therapeutic powers of the ocean with
those in need. In addition to offering therapeutic assistance through surfing to children with special
needs, AWOW in company with Katin also possesses a primary goal of providing relief to families of
children with special needs.
