Mad Jack Snowsports, the simple snowboard boot adaption system designed to make skiing more comfortable and pain-free, today announced that it has raised $125,000 in funding to continue development of its revolutionary skiing product, and is launching a complementary KickStarter campaign to fuel fulfillment of its already growing number of orders. This influx of funds comes at an opportune time with the winter snowsports season beginning in November and the 2018 Winter Olympics on the horizon.
The National Ski Areas Association recently found that the ski industry is seeing that only 24% of first time skiers become lifelong skiers due to the fact that 76% find the experience uncomfortable and too expensive, providing the inspiration and need for the MadJack adaption system. The MadJack is all about bringing the comfort of a snowboard boot to the everyday skier by making it possible to use a standard snowboard boot on a standard ski, without limiting agility, but remaining pain free and affordable.
Since launching last December, Mad Jack Snowsports has hit a number of key milestones, including filing its patent and recently winning the New Tech Meet Up Pitch Competition in Santa Cruz, CA. Mad Jack Snowsports went up against 7 other companies, and in addition to winning the competition, walked away with the People’s Choice Award as a result of their impressive pitch and unique product. The MadJacks was also named the “boldest product launch at the 2017 SIA show” by Men’s Journal.
“We’re so humbled with the amount of interest in our MadJack product since we launched, and are thrilled to see the excitement from our fellow skiers and the snow sports community as a whole,” said Kristin Mehiel, co-founder of Mad Jack Snowsports. “We plan to use the angel investment to perfect development of our product and continue ensuring our company meets its mission of keeping people “happy on the hill”. We intend to use any additional funds from our second kickstarter campaign to help us fulfill orders as fast as possible for our customers.”

The MadJack conforms to all ISO and ASTM standards related to alpine ski boot geometry (ISO 5355) and snowboard strap bindings for soft boots (ISO 14573). As such, MadJacks is considered a standard alpine ski boot – relative to the fit of the MadJacks to the alpine ski binding – and accepts a standard snowboard boot acting as a standard snowboard binding. It comes in a variety of sizes with an introductory cost of $199.00.
