Published: January 10, 2017 Press Release

MadJacks, the simple snowboard boot adaption system designed to make skiing more comfortable, is officially announcing its launch at the 2017 SIA Show. This revolutionary system is looking to bring the ease and comfort of snowboard boots to skiers across the globe. Allowing snow sports enthusiasts to ‘go both ways’; enjoying skiing or snowboarding with one boot.

Developed by husband and wife team, Kristin and Eric Mehiel, over the course of the last three years, MadJacks was borne out of their desire to make it easier for their entire family to ski more comfortably. Additionally, their young kids wanted to try both skiing and snowboarding, and this system provided an affordable way to make that happen.

“We spend so many of our weekends with our kids on the slopes, and were constantly complaining about the discomfort we felt in our ski boots,” said Eric. “Since I’m an engineer and Kristin is an entrepreneur and sales veteran, we came up with the MadJacks concept to give skiers the comfort they want without losing any agility while on skis.”

The MadJacks system marries the performance of a ski boot with the comfort and ease of a snowboard boot through a simple adaptation system. Since snowboard boots are designed with comfort in mind and allow for better mobility off the slopes, MadJacks extends a skier’s longevity on the mountain without compromising performance. Based on average MSRP, snowboard boots also cost nearly a third less than the average ski boot, so consumers can save money while boosting comfort. MadJacks is competitively priced at $199 MSRP.

MadJacks conforms to all ISO and ASTM standards related to alpine ski boot geometry (ISO 5355) and snowboard strap bindings for soft boots (ISO 14573). As such, MadJacks is considered a standard alpine ski boot – relative to the fit of the MadJacks to the alpine ski binding – and accepts a standard snowboard boot acting as a standard snowboard binding.

The binding is available in three sizes: Kids, Small-Medium, and Medium-Large. The men’s and women’s snowboard boot soles do not change width as the skier’s foot size changes, only the length of the MadJacks has to change
