ourCaste releases the first launch of their Spring 2016 collection with selected key pieces perfect for transitioning from the colder and wetter holiday months, including Water Repellent light weight flannels, Moisture Wicking wovens, and lastly, a completely water proof bag series. These styles build the foundation for the rest of the products this season with the promise of Goods for Life.
We hopped on a red-eye and headed from LAX to Costa Rica—Tamarindo to be specific—with our Spring 2016 Collection in tow, some camera gear and a solid crew of good friends. The plane touched down just after 6am in San Jose, with little plan other than to work our way towards our humble abode at the famous Tamarindo Best Western. This was home base and from here we’d spend a week getting out of our comfort zone and into the jungles of Costa Rica. From surfing double overhead at Pop’s Point, washing out the front end on an under-powered Honda XR400, channel paddling croc infested waters and acting as volunteer rodeo clowns, we put this new range to the test. In the end, it left us more confident than ever in the quality and functionality of what we make.
The Spring 2016 Collection is a continuation of our mantra, Goods For Life, and an effort to design and build functional product in everyday wearable silhouettes. We’ve expanded our Moisture Wicking treatments in our knits and wovens, and added more Durable Water Repellent fleece, outerwear, and bottoms. All of these treatments are applied to better base fabrics like cotton oxfords and fine terrys that avoid the tech stigma, letting you confidently leave your home prepared for when life happens.
Lastly, we saw the need to create a vessel or two worthy of carrying this functionally designed collection, so we did. This season we have two completely waterproof travel bags in the Jacque Backpack and the Lewis Duffel. Using Radio Frequency Seam Welding, 500D Tarpaulin PVC, and proven Fold & Seal top closures these bags are completely submersible. Backed by a one-year warranty and you have peace mind to wander farther with them.
