Absolute Board Co. (Absolute) announces the launch of its latest I Ride I Recycle Penny Skateboard limited edition complete now available online and in select U.S. retailers. This innovative and eco-friendly skateboard is the result of the second collaboration for Absolute Board Co. brand Penny Skateboards and Art Of Board (AOB). The new 27” board is made with a 100% recycled plastic deck, quality hardware and eye-catching graphics custom designed by AOB. Sales generated from this board will help fuel AOB’s skateboard recycling program, I Ride I Recycle.
The inspiration behind the graphics for this board evolved from conversations between Penny and Art Of Board to create a pattern that evoked an “under the sea” vibe. A fish scale tile pattern was designed by using actual recycled skateboard imagery to create an eye catching, original, sustainable design story to appeal to skaters, surfers, Penny collectors and artists.
“We are excited about this collaboration on many levels,” stated Art of Board co-founder Bruce Boul. “Penny is introducing skateboarding to kids and people of all ages across the globe, so it’s a great way for us to educate and reach more skateboarders and introduce them to the importance of recycling their broken or used boards with I Ride I Recycle.”
