On March 2, 2017, adidas Skateboarding and cult photographer Ari Marcoupolos hosted a collaboration launch party and photo exhibition for their limited edition capsule collection and “AIGHT’” zine release at the Soho Arts Club in the Lower East Side neighborhood of New York City.
The collection by adidas Skateboarding and renowned photographer / filmmaker Ari Marcopoulos was inspired by the artist’s signature documentary photography style, 90’s lo-fi zine publishing, and the creative spirit of New York City skate culture.
Essential to the limited edition capsule was the specially made zine “AIGHT’.” Created by Marcopoulos, the zine is 26 pages capturing a wintery day of skateboarding in New York City’s Lower East Side neighborhood and features a composite of mixed media, vibrant color pops and signature aesthetic made consistent throughout the entire collection.
The launch party and photo exhibition featured large scale prints of the “AIGHT'” limited edition zine adorning the walls, numbered copies of the zine for attendees, the limited edition collection on display alongside complimentary drinks for guests.
