ABOUT TRAVIS RICE
Since exploding onto the international scene at the end of the 90’s, the prodigious rider from Jackson (Wyoming), hasn’t stopped re-inventing tricks and exploring new lands. After a decade dominating the professional freestyle scene winning two X Games gold medals, the TTR tour Overall Champion title and a first place at the Arctic Challenge, Travis decided to leave the parks behind and dedicate himself to his biggest passion – taking his innovative brand of freestyle into the mountains. The son of a ski patroller followed his heart and headed to the open spaces and un-tracked wilderness of the mountains to put his own brand on film and contests. Along with friend and filmmaker Curt Morgan and the crew at Brain Farm, Travis Rice revolutionized sports cinema. Early successes with ”The Community Project” and “That’s it, That’s All, expanded the way the world saw snowboarding through Travis and friends’ adventures.
Three years later, “The Art Of Flight” premiered establishing Travis as a snowboarding pioneer, placing him at the forefront of his discipline. With the best cinematography ever seen in sports film production, innovative editing and a heavy duty soundtrack, “The Art of Flight” became the most successful action sports film of our time.
This fall Rice returns in the higly-anticipated follow-up to “Art of FLIGHT”, as Red Bull Media House in association with Brain Farm present “The Fourth Phase” with support from partners including Quiksilver. Rice and some of snowboarding’s most innovative riders have set off on a snowboarding adventure unlike any undertaken before. The journey comes to life for viewers worldwide this fall.
