Today, Red Bull TV announced the release of The Ripple Effect, an original program that tells the story of an innovative and inspiring band of entrepreneurs who have altered lives with game-changing products, brands and breakthroughs in the action sports industry.

Launching On Demand globally on Red Bull TV on July 11, the business profile series offers unprecedented access to the founders and entrepreneurs that have redefined what is possible in the action sports industry. The creators featured in the six 25-minute episodes include: Nick Woodman of GoPro, Steve Van Doren of Vans, Jack O’Neill of O’Neill, Sean Collins of Surfline, Bob McKnight of Quiksilver and Bob Hurley of Hurley.

Directed by Peter Hamblin, The Ripple Effect features a unique approach to storytelling with fast-paced graphics and images used to capture the narrative. Each episode tells the story of the early years, moment of inspiration, the brand ethos and how these innovative pioneers were able to predict the eternal question – “What’s next?”

“For The Ripple Effect, we explored some of the biggest and most influential names and brands in the world,” said Hamblin. “From athlete testimonials to original footage, we go behind-the-scenes to provide a never before seen look into the game-changing innovators that will forever leave an impact on the world of action sports.”

The first full season of The Ripple Effect includes an intimate look at the following brands:

Episode 1: GoPro, Nick Woodman

Nick Woodman was a travelling surfer looking for a better way to document his own wave riding adventures when he came up with the idea for a wearable POV camera. Woodman and GoPro have not only pioneered their own product category but created a lifestyle and network of passionate athletes, travelers, photographers and more.

Episode 2: Vans, Steve van Doren

From the brand’s inauspicious start to connecting with distinct subcultures, Steve Van Doren tells the story of how his father, Paul Van Doren, and uncle, James Van Doren, founded one of America’s most iconic shoe brands 40 years ago.

Episode 3: O’Neill, Jack O’Neill

Jack O’Neill has been credited as the creator of the modern wetsuit – an innovation that opened the world of watersports to the masses living in cold climates. Along the way he also developed one of the most iconic brands in surfing.

Episode 4: Surfline, Sean Collins

The story of Sean Collins who single handedly changed the world of surfing and action sports by pioneering swell forecasting and creating a global company that sold forecasts under the byline: “Know Before You Go.”

Episode 6: Hurley, Bob Hurley
