ROXY has the pleasure to announce the arrival of the ski prodigy, Kelly Sildaru to the team. On the eve of her 14th birthday, the young Estonian rider is already a true phenomenon. Already considered one of the best freeriders in the world, she’s definitely the most radical and progressive of her discipline. Kelly attempts original tricks that her opponents haven’t even tried, despite being twice her age.
At the tender age of 2, her parents put her on skis for the first time and the love affair was immediate! Everything happened extremely quickly, and Kelly impressed with her agility and her style. She rode her first box when 5 years old. At 7, she successfully threw her first 720 and by the age of 11, she managed to land perfectly all 900° spins including both switch variations.
This child prodigy has already claimed several prestigious titles in slopestyle and half pipe, more recently adding a Dew Tour victory to the list in December 2015. During the event in Breckenridge, she dominated the world’s best and blew the judges away with an outstanding run, throwing down a right 900, right corked 720, a switch left 900 and a left 720 to seal the win.
Kelly is a remarkable skier and is equally successful on the internet, with her personal YouTube channel that boasts more than 2,5 million views. Kelly regularly posts videos of her tricks, contests and her day to day life, alongside her brother Henry, who is also a great skier.
Kelly’s meteoric ascension has already made its mark in female freeskiing and will remain for at least the next ten years to come. Her future goal is winning a gold medal at Pyeongchang in 2018!
Meanwhile, she will be participating in the next X Games in Aspen, from the 28th ’til the 31st of January, alongside her Roxy team mate and Olympic Ski Slopestyle Champion, Dara Howell (Can).
