Coming off of a very successful Vision Expo West, SPY is happy to announce that Heather Meyer has been named SPY 2017 Optical Rep Of The Year. The award, which was given to Heather during a private brand rally the evening of September 13th, before the start of last week’s Vision Expo West in Las Vegas, is in recognition of her impressive work in Southern California’s fiercely competitive Orange County and Inland Empire optical channel. Under Heather’s direction, SPY’s optical sales in Orange County and the Inland Empire have increased more than 23 percent since 2016.
Heather, who joined SPY in 2011, has played a pivotal role in launching and growing SPY’s optical business in the region and was recently promoted to become SPY’s principal optical sales representative for the combined territories. In her new role with SPY, Heather has successfully driven growth in every category during the last year, including sunglasses, ophthalmic frames and the sale of Rx lenses.
“SPY was born in Southern California and it’s still our home base, so I personally have very high expectations for our reps in this area. That said, the OC and Inland Area are extremely competitive markets, but Heather’s tenacity, professionalism, and dedication to SPY has led her to consistently raise the bar year after year,” commented Curtis Ellis, Sales Director for SPY.
Heather being named the SPY 2017 Optical Rep Of The Year was just one of the many major announcements SPY made during Vision Expo West. During the show, retailers and industry partners were also able to catch the first glimpse of SPY’s new handmade collection, as well as new additions to its optical line, two significant releases introduced as the company continues to innovate in both the sun and optical categories.
