Summer Outdoor Retailer show will relocate to Denver starting in 2018.

The Outdoor Retailer Summer Market will follow OR’s winter trade show to Denver, starting in 2018, the Denver Post is reporting.

A news conference to announce the move is scheduled for Thursday in Denver with city, state, trade show, and outdoor industry officials.

OR owner Emerald Expositions previously announced that the July 2017 show would be its last in Salt Lake City after several large brands withdrew to boycott work by Utah officials to rescind protection status from the Bears Ears National Monument.

Emerald announced in May that it was acquiring the Snow Show from SnowSports Industries America (SIA) for $16.7 million and merging it with the OR Winter Market, starting in January 2018.

That sale included Snow Show’s contract to stage an event in Denver through 2030.

The new summer market is likely to debut in June 2018 in Denver, the Post reported.

Emerald also owns and stages Surf Expo, Swim Collective, and dozens of other trade shows.
