The new Patent pending Learn 2 surf Surfboards integrate the proven performance of their Softop construction with a visual and textural markings to help speed up the learning process for new surfers. Surftech collaborated with top surf instructors to develop surfboards that will help them while teaching new students.
“We had some of our local instructors use these boards in their private lessons. The students all agreed that it made it easier for them, especially when it came to paddling for waves. We got asked several times if we could sell the board at the end of the lesson. The students wanted to take them home and continue on their own.” Says Ryan Guay VP of sales.
Surftech launched the “Softop” line of Surfboards in 1997, while full foam soft boards had been around since the late 70’s, Surftech’s goal was to make a durable soft board that actually had the performance and feel of a “real” surfboard. The boards are built with an epoxy/ fiberglass construction with an EVA foam-rubber deck-and rail combination.
“The Surftech ‘sweet pea’ is a body alignment tool to guarantee the surfer is centered at the sweet spot while paddling. It is also used on the beach to practice standing up on the board. The surfers front foot must be aligned within the pea”
